Description:
Reputable commercial property and casualty insurance company has a contract to hire opportunity for an individual who has experience with data warehousing methods. Good company to work for; very close to Metra trains. Position entails development and execution of project plans, working with business users to understand and document requirements, perform source system data domain profiling and data investigation, and designing dimensional data models.

Requirements:

• Ability to explain common data warehousing methods, i.e., Kimball vs. Inmon.
• Prior experience working with business users.
• Ability to perform source system data domain profiling and data investigation
• experience designing dimensional data models (star schemas).
• Hands on PL/SQL development experience on Oracle 9i or greater.
• Prior report development with one or more common BI platforms, i.e., Business Objects, Cognos, etc.
• Experience building custom extract, transform and load (ETL) architectures/programs using Oracle software tools.

Desired Skills:

• Release management planning and processes is a plus.
• Formal testing methodology is desired.
• Prior insurance experience in common areas (premiums and losses).
