Description:
Our client is looking for a Senior Project Manager (PM) to be responsible for successfully managing multiple mid and large IT application development, system implementation, and upgrade projects. The PM will serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and our client to scope business initiatives requiring IT, translate user requirements into application development and implementation requirements, and manage the execution of the project plan through completion. In general, the Senior Project Manager will be expected to:
- Develop detailed IT project plans, including milestones with the business, clients and other IT groups as needed with baselines and forecasts
- Execute projects using matrixed IT resources and business users in accordance to the project plan while delivering on time and within budget
- Work w/IT Team Leads, Application Delivery Managers, and the PMO to develop resource plans to achieve goals within constraints
- Assess changes to projects based on new business requirements; document, obtain approval, and track all changes in project scope
- Facilitate discussions, meetings and presentations between the client, the business teams, and IT project team
- Document, resolve, and/or escalate issues in a timely and appropriate manner
- Track and report project progress
- Participate on writing system and interface test plans and executing the testing
- Coordinate testing and installation of new software packages and modifications from vendors.
- Assist in managing the Interface process. This includes but is not limited to receiving EDI Worksheets and filing in Live Link, acquiring approval for interface request, facilitate the legal process as necessary, filing the final DIA in Live Link, setting up and facilitating meetings with clients to discuss the development of the Interface, and work with other groups within the company such as the Networking group to ensure success of the interface.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of IT Project and/or Systems Management experience
- 2+ years experience leading IT application development and implementation projects in a Diagnostic Laboratory or similar Ancillary setting
- Must have formal Project Management training or certification
- Good understanding and familiarity of software, web, database and systems development, programming, and methodologies
- Experience with MS Project or other PMO tools and MS Office applications required
- Must have Health experience, client focus, and excellent communication skills
