Description:
Our client, a prominent financial institution, is in the process of acquiring the new Debt Management System (DMS). This software will store comprehensive and reliable information on debt obligations and make it available to TFA users, bond counsels, financial advisors, and investment banks. They are in need of a LAN Administrator to help with the responsibilities of managing and monitoring the infrastructure that DMS resides on which includes Windows 2003 server running SQL Server 2000. They will be expanding their infrastructure to include redundant production servers as well as adding a Test system to test patches and new application code. The test server will also be used for User Acceptance testing. This application also has client software that needs to be installed on all user desktops that need access to the application. Since the new software is not Internet based, all outside entities will need to have VPN set up to use the application.
The applicant must have a minimum of 2 years administration experience in Windows 2003 servers and a minimum of 2 years experience in the installation and administration of SQL Server 2000. This should include working knowledge of user setup and defining roles to them. The candidate should have working knowledge of SQL Server database administration, performance, and tuning. In addition, candidate must be experienced in troubleshooting network and server problems, and they must have TCP/IP experience.
The LAN Administrator duties will consist of the following:
- Install, configure, monitor, and administrate the Windows servers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any related operational issues.
- Ensure security is not breached on a network level.
- Install, configure, and maintain all related components of the new system.
- Support all end user desktop installations.
- Coordinate among outside entities and internal agencies regarding access to the new system.
This job is located in New York, NY for a period of 18+ months.
Requirements:
- 2+ years administration experience in Windows 2003 servers
- 2+ years experience in the installation and administration of SQL Server 2000
- Working knowledge of user setup and defining roles to them.
- Working knowledge of SQL Server database administration, performance, and tuning
- Must be experienced in troubleshooting network and server problems
- Must have TCP/IP experience
- Must have good people skills
