Description:
A top financial corporation is seeking a motivated C++/OO software engineer to develop and design new user applications as well as enhance and refactor existing software. This position will be involved in the entire SDLC including requirements, design, analysis, development, QA, and project management as well as interacting with domain experts. Effective communication skills are vital to this position since frequent interactions with other groups and team members are necessary. The successful applicant will have mastery of a wide-range of programming techniques and methodologies. Strong C++/OOAD skills are required as well as a minimum of 5 years of full-time industry experience. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, strong C++/OO/STL, be a go-getter, team-player, and willing to take on increasing responsibility.
This is a permanent position in Midtown, New York.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of industry experience with C++
- Proven OOAD skills and experience with STL and Design Patterns
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills; experience with debuggers
- Motivated self-starter with leadership and project management experience
- Experience and strong understanding of the following is a big plus
- UML, PERL, GUI development, UNIX, relational database experience, finance
