Description:
Our client is looking for a Senior Reporting Developer/Architect who has the ability to work well independently, as well as cooperatively with others. Candidate must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A strong work ethic is needed for this position. Experience with Business Objects and Crystal Reports V. 10 or higher is desirable. They are lokoing for someone with a good understanding of dimensional modeling, data warehousing/reporting, and ad hoc query platform development. This job is located in Midtown, Manhattan. The duration of the assignment is negotiable. Primary job responsibilities include:
- Architect /Design ad-hoc interface to data warehouse using Business Objects business views and Web Intelligence
- Architect/Design Business Objects for use in report development, ad-hoc queries and interface with Microsoft Office
- Mentor/train in-house development team on Business Objects capabilities
- Analyze, develop, test, and operate customized reports based on detailed project specifications using Business Objects and Crystal Reports
- Catalog existing reports with descriptions and samples to publish on company intranet to give end-users visibility into available reports using Business Objects Infoview
- Troubleshoot existing reports to eliminate data discrepancies and respond to end-user inquiries submitted to the internal help desk request system.
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience within a financial services firm
- 5+ years experience with Business Objects and Crystal Reports (Version 10 or higher)
- Advanced reporting skills
- Must know SQL Server 2000 and Microsoft SQL Server DTS
- Bachelors and/or Masters Degrees in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related technical discipline. Several years of relevant experience will also be considered.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must as is a demonstrated ability to work effectively with end-users as well as cross functional technology teams.
