Description: Our client, a top-tier financial firm, is seeking a QA/QC Analyst to join their IMD-Application Governance team. They are looking for an outgoing self-starter and fast learner with at least 2 years of testing experience and at least 2 years of financial applications experience. Candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to work independently and with others, and be able to successfully work in a fast-paced environment. Paying fine attention to detail is a must. Weekend and overtime hours may be required. A thorough understanding of SDLC as it relates to QA/QC is required as well. This job is located in midtown Manhattan and is for a period of 6 months.
Job Responsibilities:
Generate clear, concise test documents from business requirements and detailed technical specifications.
Create and execute test plans and test cases on SOX applications
Develop test cases based on business requirements, functional and technical specifications, and development standards for assigned projects/applications.
Maintain existing test plans and test cases based on code changes and enhancements to assigned applications.
Track issues and work with project managers and developers to resolve them.
Create and send issue reports to project team and management during test cycles.
Requirements:
BA/BS Required
2+ years QA/IT experience in the financial industry
4-6 years experience with the internet (tech interview required)
1-3 years experience with UNIX
1-3 years experience with Windows XP
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (ability to create documentation and presentations; develop spreadsheets)
MS Project Skills is a plus
Thorough understanding of SDLC
Ability to decipher requirements and test scope when documentation is unavailable
