Description:
The candidate will be responsible for understanding business requirements, working with developers to understand the design of the system, create quality assurance and user acceptance test plans, then executing those tests. This position is responsible for ensuring that custom web applications meet the requirements, have no defects, and add the desired value to the internal Customers and business partners. The candidate will be responsible for testing new applications, as well as regression testing existing applications. Light project management activities will also be performed by this individual.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Web Development environments and 2 _ 5 years experience performing quality assurance and testing within those environments.
- Develop, publish, and implement comprehensive test plans.
- Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.
- Establish and implement (and enforce) standards and best practices to ensure the highest degree of software quality and performance.
- Experience with test automation tools and methodologies, preferably TestDirector
- Understands concepts of the software development lifecycle.
- Experience in testing methodologies and theories, test plan development, test case design, test execution practices, data collection and root cause analysis techniques, and reporting practices required.
- Must exhibit a sense of and demonstrate responsibility, focus on delivery, and ability to work independently with appropriate technical direction.
- Adept in pulling together reports, manipulating data sets, and writing intelligent queries to monitor and control data within a Microsoft SQL environment.
- Working knowledge of MS SQL and ability to execute queries, interpret results, and modify queries to further investigate issues is a huge plus.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, and 2-5 years of experience coding in C, C++, C#, Javascript, HTML is a significant plus.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
